The Parable of the Lost Mariner
Once, in a vast and unpredictable ocean, there sailed a man named Samuel. He was a skilled mariner, confident in his abilities and the sturdiness of his boat. One day, he set out for a journey across the sea, dreaming of new horizons. But as he ventured farther from shore, dark clouds gathered ominously overhead, and a fierce storm began to brew.
The wind howled like a wild beast, thrashing the waves against his boat. Samuel struggled to keep the vessel steady, but the storm grew fiercer with each passing moment. Rain poured down in torrents, and the once calm sea turned into a turbulent maelstrom. Suddenly, a massive wave crashed over the side, and before he knew it, Samuel found himself tossed helplessly into the water.
As he floundered in the furious ocean, fear gripped his heart. “I am lost!” he cried out, water filling his lungs. Desperate, he shouted to the heavens, “Oh, Almighty God! Save me! I am but a humble mariner, and I cannot face this storm alone!”
The darkness enveloped him, and just when he felt he could struggle no longer, something extraordinary happened. A pair of dolphins emerged from the depths, dancing gracefully through the raging waters. They approached Samuel with an almost miraculous serenity, their sleek bodies cutting through the waves as if they were unbothered by the storm.
Seeing the dolphins, a spark of hope ignited within Samuel. With all his strength, he reached out toward them. To his amazement, the dolphins circled around him, their presence bringing comfort to his troubled spirit. As they nudged him gently, Samuel felt a sense of safety envelop him.
“Follow us,” seemed to echo in his heart, as if communicated through the very depths of the ocean itself. Samuel instinctively began to swim alongside the dolphins, who guided him through the tumultuous waters toward calmer seas.
With every stroke, Samuel’s gratitude grew. “Thank you, God!” he exclaimed, realizing that the dolphins were a divine answer to his desperate plea. The storm still raged, but together they navigated the chaos, following the dolphins’ lead until the tumult began to subside.
At long last, they reached the edge of the storm where the waters were still, illuminated by the golden rays of the sun breaking through the clouds. Samuel looked around, astonished at the beauty that surrounded him. The dolphins leaped joyfully in the water, their spirits unbroken, embodying the joy of hope and resilience.
As they began to swim away, Samuel called out, “Where are you going? Please don’t leave me!” But the dolphins turned back for a moment, their eyes sparkling with wisdom. They seemed to communicate without words, imparting a message of faith: “You are never truly alone, even in your darkest hour.”
From that day on, Samuel carried the lesson of the dolphins in his heart. Though the ocean could be wild and unpredictable, he learned to trust in God and the signs of hope that life would provide—whether through the gentle whispers of nature or the steadfast support of others.
With renewed faith, he returned to shore, telling all who would listen about the storm, the dolphins, and the miracle of divine intervention. The experience deepened his understanding of reliance on God and the importance of believing, even amidst despair.

Moral.... In times of turmoil and despair, calling out to God can unveil unexpected signs of hope and support. Just as the dolphins guided Samuel to safety, divine assistance often comes in many forms, teaching us to have faith and trust in the midst of life's storms.
