EU TalentOn is the European Union Contest of Early-Career Researchers, giving them the opportunity to work together to find solutions to our most pressing global issues, in collaboration with experts from academia and the industry. The second edition of EU TalentOn took place in Katowice, the European City of Science 2024, from 9 to 14 September, and it saw 108 early career researchers from 21 to 35 years old competing in teams of four to develop projects based on the five EU Missions – Adaptation to Climate change, Cancer, Ocean, Cities and Soil. The participants had to pitch their innovative ideas first in front of the public, and then to a jury of scientists and entrepreneurs.
