Kalpa hill station in Himachal Pradesh. Kalpa lies in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh in India at the height of 9711 feet above sea - level near the India - Tibet border. The mighty Satluj river flows from the Tibet side and enters India near Shipil La Pass and then flows very near to this town. Kalpa is 270 km from Shimla, 550 km from Delhi, 62 km from Chitkul village, and lies just 8 km from Recong Peo, the district headquarter of Kinnaur. It receives heavy snowfall in the winter months and the temperature goes down even to -20 in winter months. Kalpa is very famous for the view of mighty Kinner Kailash snow-capped mountains and for its delicious apples. The religious trek of Kinner Kailash Shivling is also starting at Tangling village near Powari just 15 km from Kalpa.
