PROTOTYPE plays aggressive, technical and futuristic Metal, combining heavy guitar riffing and fast tempos with ultra-melodic progressive musical passages in order to create a unique and powerful sound. The music that the band creates displays all of the characteristics of modern Metal but also redefines the boundaries that the term METAL generally implies. The perfect example of this is the PROTOTYPE song "The Way It Ends" from the band's second full length release Continuum.
Selected in 2006 for the Holiday release of the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock video game, PROTOTYPE was exposed to a much larger audience of music fans and gamers who unlocked their song "The Way it Ends" during the course of gameplay. With its stellar machine gun rhythms, killer guitar solos and signature sound, the PROTOTYPE track is widely seen as one of the game's most difficult tracks to master.
In 2011, "The Way it Ends" was requested for inclusion in the Rock Band Network, now allowing former Guitar Hero aficionados to relive one of their favorite moments from that game series, and for Rock Band players to experience PROTOTYPE for the first time.
