Hmong Superstitions Ep. 1 - Late Night Whistle
This first episode covers a superstition where whistling at night is strictly prohibited. Elders believe that it creates opportunity for ghosts to "take away" the soul of the whistler. The reason for that is that the whistler may be lonely and/or sad when the whistling takes place, making his/her soul vulnerable for ghosts to snatch.This does not only apply to whistles, but flutes and "Ncas"(the instrument that's used to communicate between boyfriends and girlfriends).
