Philadelphia is a city steeped in history — and according to many, the supernatural. In Part 2 of our haunted Philly series, Unexplained Cases explores one of the city’s oldest and most legendary establishments: McGillin’s Olde Ale House.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, McGillin’s has been serving up pints since 1860 — the year Abraham Lincoln was elected president. Catherine and William McGillin, or Ma and Pa McGillin, not only ran the pub but raised 13 children in the rooms above it. When Pa passed away in 1901, Ma kept the taps flowing until her death in 1937… at the age of 90!
But are Ma and Pa still there, long after last call?
With our trusted paranormal partner Donna from Philly Ghost Hunt, we set out to uncover the truth behind decades of ghostly claims. Bartenders and patrons alike have reported strange sounds, unexplained movements, and the eerie sense that someone — or something — is always watching.
