What a journey! I thank God for the opportunity to be able to sit in this seat for the last few years. I'm grateful to have been the first black male evening news anchor in San Diego but I'm excited to see the next few! I say without hesitation this is the greatest City I've ever lived in and I see why they call it #AmericasFinestCity. I have been absolutely honored to be in your living room every single night over the last few years. As our industry goes through major changes I said goodbye once more, but this time with a goodbye. I forgot how hard goodbyes are. No announcement yet on my next moves, but I am certainly listening to phone calls and reading my messages.
To the viewers, what else can I say but I love you too. I hear all the comments and I'm just grateful I had the opportunity to be that breath of fresh air that you needed in that moment in time that you turned on our newscast for a few minutes here and there. To all the kids/students that I've spoken to, you have my heart and I will ALWAYS have your back! To all my colleagues, wow, what an adventure, I've learned from each and every one of you. To my family/friends, let me know where the next vacation spot is!
I leave you with one of my favorite quotes. There are a lot of kind people in this world, if you cannot find one, be one!
