I FINALLY studied light and shadow (with the Asaro head) | Head Drawing Progress #05
In this video, I'll be studying light and shadow using the Asaro head.
Asaro head is perfect for beginners to learn light and shadow because its angular design makes the plane changes and value shifts super clear — perfect for training our eyes to separate light from shadow.
I’ll use a free online tool that lets you rotate the head and adjust the light source (linked below).
I started with just 2 values first, then moved onto 3 values. I also studied different angles including straight, 3/4 and profile.
And even tried to draw the Asaro head from memory by the end!
