Why are there so many more women than men in Russia?
"Countries of the Slavic lineage in Eastern Europe are rumored to have many beautiful women. Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic three countries (likely referring to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania), and Russia are the most notable among them. However, a common point in these countries is that it's not easy for these beautiful women to get married. This is because of the shortage of men.
Russia's population is roughly 145 million, but the gender ratio is an extreme imbalance of 86:100. Looking at the entire population, there are a whopping 11 million fewer men. Considering the global average gender ratio is 101.7:100, with slightly more men, one can understand how serious the gender imbalance is in Russia.
