How did Germany become an automotive powerhouse?
The 'horseless carriage' has long been a dream of mankind. Thus, at the end of the 15th century, the first automobile was born. Humanity's first creation was unbelievably ingenious. It was the spring-powered car made by Leonardo da Vinci. The idea of using a machine, not a horse, as the power source can truly be considered the origin of today's automobiles.
Subsequently, through the wind-powered and steam-powered cars, at the end of the 19th century, finally Karl Benz of Germany succeeded in making a gasoline-powered car.
Since then, Germany, with companies often referred to as the 'German Big Three' - Benz, BMW, Audi - has never once lost its reputation as the 'best car country' throughout history. What made Germany different?
