The Market
As I was listening to todays press conference from the White House I was sickened by the Presidents comments regarding the "Cure being worse than the sickness." His suggestion that the percentage of those that would die was less than predicted, even though we are still at the beginning of this infection and have no idea what the percentage of death will be. His insinuation that we need to get the economy rolling again because that level of human death is acceptable as long as we keep the market going, is so inhumane that it wants to make me scream!!!
I was reminded of a lecture that I once filmed of David Suzuki who is a Canadian scientist and activist. Here's is a section of that lecture where he had some remarks about the economy and the market that I think are so completely perfect for the time that we are in.
