Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
If the Dsh key does not exist, right-click Microsoft, select New, Key, and name it Dsh.
Inside Dsh, right-click the right pane, select New, DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it:
AllowNewsAndInterests
Double-click AllowNewsAndInterests, set its Value data to 0, and click OK.
Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.
What Gets Disabled?
✅ Lock Screen Widgets – Removes weather, news, and other widgets from the lock screen.
✅ Taskbar Widgets – The Widgets button (next to the Start button) disappears.
✅ Win + W Shortcut – The Widgets Panel won’t open when pressing Win + W.
✅ News and Interests – Removes personalized news, weather updates, sports scores, and stock market info from Widgets.
What Stays Unaffected?
❌ Live Tiles in Start Menu – Windows 11 doesn’t have them, but they remain functional in Windows 10.
❌ Third-Party Widgets – Apps like Rainmeter or XWidget still work.
❌ Other Lock Screen Features – Clock, notifications, and background image remain unchanged.
