So you just reseted your PC or
did a fresh install of Windows 11
and now your HDD is not showing up.

It doesn’t show up in ‘This PC’or in Disk Management either but in your bios does.

so
“First, right‑click the Windows icon then click ‘Device Manager’

Now look under ‘IDE A T A controllers

Here you can see serial ata controller with a yellow exclamation mark,

That warning means the driver is broken or missing, and that’s why your HDD is not showing up.”

“Right‑click that controller and click Propertities

then. click Driver , then update driver.

First, click ‘Search automatically for drivers’. If Windows finds and installs a driver and the yellow icon disappears, congrats, you’ve successfully fixed it — your HDD should now show up again in Disk Management and ‘This PC’.”

“If that doesn’t work, You'll see a error saying windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for you device. we’ll do this manually. Right‑click the same controller again, choose ‘Update driver’, then this time click ‘Browse my computer for drivers’. Next, click ‘Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.”

“Here you’ll see a list of compatible controller drivers that are already built into Windows. It shows 3 for me and i just tested them one by one. The first and the second one did not work, but for me the third driver in the list installed successfully with no error. Your list and order might be different, so just try each compatible driver until one installs without any error message.”

“Once the correct driver is installed, the yellow exclamation mark disappears and the Drives or in my case the partitions are coming back online. if you open Disk Management again, you’ll see your HDD partitions coming back online, and they’ll also appear in ‘This PC’ like normal.”

“So yeah, if your HDD vanishes after a Windows 11 reset or fresh install and driver updater tools don’t help, try updating the SATA or AHCI controller this way in Device Manager. It’s a simple trick, but it brought my drives back instantly. i tried alot driver upader and old sata drivers but none worked. so i made this video for me and you guys if this issue occurs you can also fix it.
