The hypothesis was pretty basic: I believe that Wikipedia pages will get less traffic in a generative search world (Remember wikipedia was a major source for common crawl and other LLMs).

If I track prominent wiki pages, could I see a dip in traffic to it over time (assuming a chunk comes from Google)? Then I could see for which ones, in which industries? I wanted to then combine that data with SEO & SEM data to see which clients have wikipedia pages ranking the most and how wil dips there help us to know when our customers might be moving over and how fast.

SEO analysts - Imagine knowing how much traffic wikipedia gains or drops when it outranks you or you outrank it - how much traffic you gain from your SEO/content/PPC efforts. (Right now 2 companies outrank wikipedia for CRM, would be fun to see the bump they got).

SEM analysts - I wonder what my CTRs and other metrics look like for my paid search ads when wikipedia is ranked #1, and then what might happen when they move down (a competitor built a great education page), or just as people use wiki less will I lose traffic there?
