Caltech celebrates the life of discovery led by Ed Stone, the David Morrisroe Professor of Physics and Project Scientist for Voyager missions.
In this video, Dr. Stone describes his career at Caltech and JPL, and the moment Voyager discovered active volcanoes on Jupiter's moon, Io.
"Usually it's the things that we don't anticipate which turn out to be the most important, it's just that we didn't know they were out there," Stone says.
