Maudy Ayunda as Speaker on the Global Media Forum: on Social Development through the Social Media
Received a copy of the speaking session I contributed in last summer and decided to share it with you guys. :)
The Global Media Forum, under UNESCO, outlines and scrutinises the role of the media as a tool for development today and in the future. The Global Media Forum adopts this Road Map to realize the potential of the media to contribute to sustainable development, and to promote the inclusion of a goal acknowledging the importance of freedom of expression and independent media in the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals. Here I spoke particularly about the role of young people in using social media as a steering wheel for change, while realising too, that it can act as a double-edged sword.
