Raymond grew up in Arusha, Tanzania, a small city but filled with music from all around the world. He started violin when he was about 11 years under the Suzuki classical method but later joined other genres such as Jazz, Taarab, Bongo flava and the traditional Tanzania(tribal) music. Raymond believes the traditional Tanzanian music helps children learn and discover various rhythms and understand the culture/identity of certain tribes. He believes music is the key to happiness, so he approaches every lesson with engaging activities that motivate kids and enhances learning. He believes anyone can learn anything if there is determination and motivation.
