Monastery of Montserrat / Spain
Our group came from Barcelona to the Benedictine monastery - the spiritual symbol and religious center of Catalonia. We visited the monastery cathedral, where the Black Virgin of Montserrat is kept - a statue of the Virgin Mary with the baby on her lap from the 12th century. We looked at the beautiful surrounding rocks surrounding the monastery.
