Rick and Morty is an American adult comedy science fiction animated series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and produced as part of the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. In December 2023, the authors of the series announced that the script for the eighth season has been completed and filming will begin soon; in parallel, the script for the ninth season is being created, but the release of the eighth season is slightly delayed due to the strike, but plans are underway for an anime series of this animated series.
The series is dedicated to the misadventures of cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his naive, moody and insecure grandson Morty. The series, which grew out of a hooligan animated parody of the Back to the Future franchise, received extremely high reviews from critics, who particularly noted its originality, creativity and sense of humor.
