While Barbie girl may feel right at home in a Barbie world, this popular doll has faced a lot of flak in the real world for its toxic impact, for decades. So plastic, not fantastic.
From setting unrealistic beauty standards to giving rise to body image issues and eating disorders, the effects of this playmate on the mental and physical health of young girls, are far from child’s play.
