01:31 What we must consider first within the diagnostic system
05:44 What is my uniqueness?
10:49 Today's homework
Right now, we're doing an emergency video shoot, and Dr. Matsuzaki is asking Ryoham what he dislikes about Masuda.
When talking about what he dislikes about Masuda, Ryoham said something like, "Dr. Masuda diagnoses everything about people, and talks about it too much in terms of psychiatry," and "You can't explain a person just by the name of a disease, just by their illness."
I think this is a pretty important point, so I'd like to explain it here.
This is a pretty important issue, and I explained it to Ryoham, and later I said the reasons were this and that, but I didn't feel like he really understood, so I thought it would be better to explain it here, so I'd like to explain it here as well.
◾️You have to think about it first within the diagnostic system
Basically, in my conversations with Ryoham, when we talk about people, I often explain problematic or characteristic behaviors from a psychiatric perspective, saying, "I think this is what it means."
But Ryoham thinks that because humans have their own upbringing, experiences, and personalities, it's a part of that person's personality, and that this problematic behavior is a part of that person's personality.
But you know, this is what psychiatry is all about: when there is a certain kind of problematic behavior, when there are various behaviors, it should be explained within a diagnostic system.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
These problematic behaviors and behaviors with certain characteristics have to be classified within psychiatry, in the first place.
They have to fit somewhere, whether it's not diagnosed, suspected depression, in the grey zone of depression, or not depression at all.
Psychiatry is MECE (Mutually Exclusive and Collectively Exhaustive) to begin with. Without omissions, without deviations.
It is the position that all problematic behaviors that occur in any human society are discussed within psychiatry.
So that means
there's no crime, there's no criminals, right?
That's right.
There are no criminals in our world, but if someone is engaging in problematic behavior, they can be diagnosed in some way.
It's complicated, but that doesn't mean that the person isn't held responsible.
We need to take into account the symptoms of the illness and hold the person responsible, but basically problematic behavior should be diagnosed within psychiatry.
I think the causes of problematic behavior can be brain problems, hardware problems, software problems, memory problems, upbringing and experiences that people have learned, and trauma problems.
I think that a combination of these factors is causing problems, but these problematic behaviors must be explained within this diagnostic system, and this is the axis we're talking about.
That's what I'm talking about, in the first place.
It's not at all about ignoring upbringing and experiences, I mean.
I explained this because it's important.
In particular, we run self-help and family groups, so the troubles that arise there, the various things, comments, and characteristics must first be considered within the diagnostic system.
If we don't do that, we have to be suspicious of whether what this person is doing is a manic episode, whether they are having hallucinations or delusions, and we have to operate while being suspicious of these things, otherwise a major accident ...
