Planned Parenthood Michigan Peer Educator's Summit Animation

This animation, facilitated and edited by Natasha Beste and Kevin Eckert of Gold House Media, is a snapshot of what it's like being a Planned Parenthood Peer Educator. People don't always want to talk about sex, and a lot of noise can drown out and bury people's questions and concerns. Peer Educators can't always fix all the problems, but they can plant a seed that grows into a movement that can affect the world.
During a 2 hour workshop, Peer Educators were challenged with the goal of accomplishing an animation that would reflect how they saw the state of sex education availability in some schools and communities. The PEs discussed what was needed for youth to make proper and healthy decisions about their mental and physical health. Using stop-motion and hand-drawn animation, they were able to share their message about breaking through barriers with unbiased communication and the need for community support.
