The fast way of joining GTA Online is done by starting a singleplayer game and then trough the character switch menu simply selecting the online character. This way results in faster joining of an online session, almost half the time of the normal way.
The normal way:
The normal way of joining GTA Online is simply done by directly going to the online option in the start menu and waiting till the game joins you into an online session.
