SLIPKNOT: THE SPIRITS ARE HERE
Again we started a day at the Main Stage with the people of Madrid Brother Till We Die turning the venue into a pitched battle, and this band of young musicians has only one song left to turn the audience into a recipe for circle pits, walls of death, mosh pits, crowd surfing, canoes, sambas, cumbias and raves. With a more than consolidated Hardcore and reference in Europe made it clear that Viveiro is your site and #ResurrectionFest your audience. These guys are a whirlwind on the tables, distributing riffs dropped right and left, never fail.
After six years they returned to a Spanish festival the #Trivium of Matt Heafy, much more mature and evolved musically. the band took the audience to their pocket since their first song. Those from Florida knew how to defend their level with new and old songs that the people chanted without rest, giving us a curious moment when they went up to a group of well-known Spanish Youtubers to sing a song with the band; successful or not, was something that gave a lot to talk about, raising criticism and envy.
Well into the afternoon I played defending the Main Stage to Arch Enemy, which in my point of view was halfway, a set list successful but bad connection with the audience and a sound not at all outlined. Alissa sings in a spectacular way, yes, but she sins of too much carnival posture and less aggressiveness in front of the band. The best thing about this concert was the second moment of the day that Alex gave us, a boy with cerebral palsy, who was kept with his wheelchair from the back of the enclosure to the first line by the public, leaving the most beautiful image of the festival, and summer viral.
After Avatar, which I could not see to be in the front ranks of #Slipknot, played the band most demanded last years with Parkway Drive.
The masked of Corey were already here and after the fall of the curtain came the earthquake, with a perfect setlist reviewing his entire career from his "Iowa" to his most recent "Unsainted", from the most staunch supporters to the band to the most new. An embezzlement of quality and experience worthy of envy. Corey's total delivery to the public of viveiro and special mention to Shawn that follows 200% despite the recent death of his daughter.
Finished Slipknot few things were left to do ... except if you put in the Main Stage one of the bands in the shape of Spain, the Catalans Crisix devastated everything that was alive in Viveiro with a direct and forceful show. The thrash metal of the Igualada boys ended in the descent of their guitarist to the center of a huge Circle Pit while he played; and even his battery with his instrument on a platform maintained by the people with the incessant blow of his "Ultra Thrash". Wall of death with inflatable balls and a huge canoe formed by people separating the enclosure in two. Now, dead the public nothing was left for this day of Friday.
