On this edition of @mannedspace1187 we remember the launch of Apollo 12 and relive the lightning strike that nearly the entire Apollo 12 mission mere seconds after leaving the launch pad.
On November 14, 1969, astronauts Pete Conrad, Dick Gordon and Alan Bean became the second crew of the Apollo program to fly to the moon for a lunar landing. We recount the excitement of the launch and remember how the space bound Saturn V was struck by lightning in the opening seconds of the mission threatening to cancel it before it really got started.
