ADHD doesn't look the same for everyone. Understanding your child's symptoms, triggers, and habits is important to create a parenting system that works best for them. For example, if you have an impulsive child, you must be firm, consistent, and establish realistic expectations. This allows them to take responsibility; gives them the freedom to fix mistakes; and encourages them to use their impulse constructively. Remember not all ADHD children are the same. This may seem overwhelming if you have multiple children, but it is a lot less stressful if you have a full understanding of their individual needs and get the right systems in place. It is never healthy to rely on assumptions or use methods that are harmful to their mental health.
