How can I view part metadata in CoLab?
In this video, Mary demonstrates how to view part metadata in CoLab using the Model Browser.
In order to view part metadata in CoLab, you must fulfill one of two requirements:
1. You uploaded a parent assembly to CoLab with component metadata included.
2. You're using a CoLab PLM integration.
Engineering teams view part properties in the Model Browser for a number of reasons:
👉 Part material properties, like the example shown in the video
👉 Buy or Make data, so teams know if this is a manufactured part or a purchased part
👉 Part numbers for RFQs
👉 Basic properties, like height and weight for DFM
However you want to use the Model Browser, the steps for referencing part properties and metadata are simple:
1️⃣ Select the part in the 3D model
2️⃣ Click the Model Browser icon on the bottom control panel
3️⃣ View or expand the Properties panel in the Model Browser
