Thermal Imaging the new MK Screwless Socket

That's right, let's shove 32 amps through MK's latest accessory and see how it handles with a thermal imaging camera.


As explained in the video we're emulating a 4mm radial circuit, fully loaded at 32 amps using the lab power supply.


We then use the old faithful FLIR iPhone thermal imager dongle to have a look at what's going on in the infrared domain.

Ovbiously you can see the 4mm conductors get pretty warm, but the terminals in both the MK sockets are only slightly warmer.


My conclusion is that screwless is just as good as the old fashioned screw terminal offering.
We only saw 2~3 degees difference on the screwless terminals at a full 32 amp loading.
