Abey Lin (Abraham Shang Long Lin) is a fourth generation Asian American director, actor, and musician. Abey Lin was born on March 3rd, 2000 and grew up in San Francisco, CA and began studying Directing and Film Production at the Beijing Film Academy in 2018. He is best known for his short films Following (2018) and Catching Love (2020).
Abey Lin has been featured and showcased by various major media news sources including Bloomberg, FOX 2 News, The Economic Times, SFGate, The Beijinger, The Daily Californian, and many more. He is also the founder and president of the multi-media company, OKAY Enterprises(TM) which aims to "change and connect the world through film and fashion".
In addition to being a filmmaker, and as a testament to the phrase "Jack of all Trades", Abey Lin is skilled in martial arts, singing, dancing, musical composition, piano, guitar, beat boxing, visual art/drawing, and fashion design.
Abey Lin's childhood was far from easy. As a young child, Abey Lin was diagnosed with over ten categories of anaphylaxis inducing allergies. This meant that the consumption of any and all meat, dairy, wheat/grain, fruit, vegetable, gluten, tree nut, etc. would potentially be fatal. Furthermore, he was also diagnosed with asthma and severe eczema. With all these factors, Abey Lin was labeled a "bubble boy". However, after many, many years of treatment from Western and Eastern medicinal practices, Abey Lin not only was cured from all allergic categories, but also found a heavy decrease in his asthmatic and eczema symptoms. Although experiencing such hardships, Abey Lin has not only defeated the odds but has pushed the boundaries of what an individual can accomplish in film making and creative expression.
