What is Soul?
I often think about the power of words. Their ability to shape and create the world within and around us.
"Soul" is a powerful word, carrying the capability to greatly enhance our lives.
When I speak of the soul, I am not implying a religious connotation. Instead, it is really about connecting to the deeper aspect of what we are. Something beyond our perceptions and beliefs that we have picked up throughout our lives.
The soul is our true essence. We can call it awareness, the present moment, or energy; the name is not important. How we live our lives from here is.
When we live a soulful life, we connect to a deeper reality. We put less of an emphasis on all the superficial signposts and start connecting with others based on a universal truth.
We are not all those things. They describe us — they are not us.
This opens us to living from a place of connection instead of separation.
We focus on what unites us; we are all humans.
We don’t put excessive focus or single out one another based on where we were born, our religious affiliation, our political identification, or any other classification.
We are human before anything else, even the name we bear.
