Top Event Log Entry Count With a Short Description of Each Event
I am going to show you how to generate an Event Log Summary report that shows the top number of entries along with a short description of each Event ID.
This video was created in response to a client asking for a report that provides a summary of Event IDs along with their descriptions, as requested by their auditors. To fulfill this request, I incorporated a brand new feature into Server Manager. This feature allows users to generate a composite database key, which is used to identify unique entries. The results can then be grouped to obtain a count of distinct entries. Finally, the report is enhanced by parsing out descriptions and appending them to each row, producing the desired outcome.
