Story of the Wilkinson Quints - 10 Years Later

• Who are the Wilkinson Quints? -~-
On July 31, 2007, The Wilkinson Quints (or quintuplets) were born. This is a summary of the quint history. We were thinking back to that time and remembering how crazy it was. We never thought we would have a very big family let alone quints.
Having quintuplets was just something that happened to us and looking back, I am so glad it did. These kids really are a miracle. This is a little poem about their story.
10 years ago a mamma was ready
She was just nearly bursting but her faith it was steady.
Her husband was nervous but he also knew
That what they were doing was the right thing to do.
The great doctor Candice with the knife and some flair
Was ready to go with her striking red hair.
She made a nice cut and out came girl one.
Her name would be Kassidy. But they were not done.
Out came another. A small girl for sure.
Her name would be Kaydence. Her eyes bright and pure.
And then came a boy. The nurses took care.
This would be Rustin with the tuft of red hair.
And then came another girl right on his hiney.
Kyndall was next. A peanut so tiny.
And then came the last who was surly a fighter
He was a small boy and his name would be Ryder.
When things were done, mom and dad were in shock
Did they dream this all up? Hit their heads on a rock?
All those 5 babies so tiny and small
How would they be mom and dad to them all?
How would they help them to grow and be strong?
How would they help them to learn right from wrong?
Well, those kids, they were lucky. They had great Mother
And had a great older sister and brother.
The dad knew that all the support would do wonders.
And so he just tried to avoid the big blunders.
Then up they all grew. For great things they are meant
They have learned that it’s crazy fun being a quint.
Ten years have gone by. Yes, it's hard to believe.
Amazing what hard work and prayer can achieve.
For both things were used. Both the work and the prayer.
Neither alone would have gotten them there.
But there's still much to do. Much more work to be done.
And much will be hard...but much will be fun.
And as all the quints get wiser and taller
We hope they'll remember those times they were smaller.
We hope they will know both now and forever.
Their mom and dad love them even more than a treasure.
One more thing we suggest without being satirical.
Don’t forget silly kids, that your lives are a miracle.
We love all of those other quint families too like the Busby family from Outdaughtered, the Jones family from Quints by Suprise, the Hodges from Hodges half dozen. We have been there and it really is a miracle every time this happens. All of us that have been blessed by that great miracle need to keep in mind how truly blessed we are to be part of something so great.
