Federal goverment offers Rex airlines $80m lifeline
The federal government is providing an $80 million lifeline to regional airline Rex.
The funding will help keep its routes in operation while the company navigates its financial difficulties.
It will allow Australia's' third-largest carrier to extend its voluntary administration period.
Employees who were made redundant will be granted early access to entitlements.
An application will be submitted to extend Rex's administration period to the end of June 2025.
