The commemoration, in the last two years, of the hundreds of thousands of victims of the famine organized in 1946-47 and the assessment that the Bessarabians were then subjected to a genocide by the USSR, an assessment recently expressed by Igor Grosu, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, has caused a new wave of hysteria and threats in the Kremlin.
Romania is said to be to blame for the famine caused in the MSSR in 1946-1947, because it removed agricultural equipment and inventory from the region. This is the reaction of the Vice-President of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev to the statement of the head of the Legislative Assembly in Chisinau, Igor Grosu, who claims that those tragic events should be declared genocide.

Journalist Valentina Ursu discusses the famine in Soviet Moldova in 1946-1947 as a premeditated phenomenon with Anatol Ţăranu, historian, former parliamentarian and political analyst, and Nicolae Negru, writer, journalist and political analyst.
