Recent data from S&P Global Market Intelligence highlights some interesting trends in the hashtag#privateequity and M&A landscape:

▪️ PE deal terminations in Q1 2024 dropped to just two, down from 11 in Q1 2023.
▪️ More PE deals are being completed as buyers and sellers work through valuation gaps.
▪️ The value of the two scrapped deals stood at $2.24B, a significant decrease from $14.78B in Q1 2023.
▪️ Terminated M&A deals overall fell by 89.3% YoY to 17, which is the lowest count since 2020.
▪️ The total value of terminated M&A in Q1 2024 was $10.01B, compared to $89.52B in Q1 2023.

The data could indicate optimism toward a positive shift as the market stabilizes, with more deals getting finalized and valuation gaps reducing.
