▶ The US Shovel was the only and original melee weapon in CoD: WWII. Since the Winter Siege update, there are two new ones, the Trench Knife and Ice Pick. All melee weapons are one-hit-kills regardless of where the enemy was hit.
▶ The US Shovel may pair well with the Airborne Division, the fourth level especially, due to the increased sprint speed. The other perks of the Airborne division may assist with the use of the shovel because of their overall increased mobility.
▶ A helpful Division Training to use with the US Shovel is the Serrated training, as it increases melee speed, as well as adding throwing knives and tacticals to your loadout, increasing melee capability.
▶ The US Shovel has two variants, those being the Epic Variant Fortitude, and the Heroic Fortitude II. There are no stat changes comparing the variants to the original. However, the Fortitude has a +10% XP bonus on kills in multiplayer, while the Fortitude II has a +15% bonus. Compared visually, the Fortitude is gold and black, smudged with what looks like dirt. The Fortutude II is exactly like the Fortitude except with the dirt removed.

▶ Kill Confirmed, also known as Tags Or It Didn't Happen as an April Fool's day joke, is a multiplayer gametype first announced at Call of Duty XP, introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and is featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty: WWII. It was removed from Call of Duty Online. The gametype is similar to Team Deathmatch, with two teams competing against each other to earn kills. However, the team scores by collecting dogtags that enemies drop upon death.

▶ Call of Duty: WWII returns to the gameplay often featured in the older Call of Duty games, featuring the standard grounded movement. It also features similar server support to that of previous games. However, unlike previous iterations, the game now features a special social place, the Headquarters section with the ability for the player to reside in between games. A special new game mode has also been added to the multiplayer which takes players on a simulated battle with objectives designed in an attack/defense style mode, called War.
