The running larks head knot is very similar to the larks head picot…the difference is how you use it and the fact that it runs horizontal not vertical like the picot.
Sounds a little confusing doesn’t it? The picot is used to add a little flourish and detail and are bunched closely together. The running larks head is meant to run along a stretch of cord or dowel. It’s often used to start a wall hanging and have additional larks head knots attached to the running strands. This gives a swag like drape
