B-1 Lancer - supersonic strategic bomber
Rockwell international B-1 Lancer (persistent. Rockwell International B-1 Lancer ) is an American supersonic strategic bomber with variable sweep wing.
Developed in the 1970s and 1980s by Rockwell International. Consists on arms of Military-air forces of the USA from 27 July 1985.
The aircraft was placed at the disposal of the strategic command of the US air force as a carrier of nuclear weapons. In the 1990s, it was converted into a carrier of tactical weapons.
In 1998, the aircraft received baptism of fire during operation desert Fox and during NATO's operation in Kosovo the following year. The aircraft also takes part in us and NATO military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. B-1B supersonic component represents the long-range aviation of the United States, along with the subsonic B-52 and B-2 Spirit.
