Brighton signed French forward Georginio Rutter from Leeds for a club-record £40 million on a five-year contract. The 22-year-old scored eight goals in 66 appearances for Leeds, who signed him from Hoffenheim in January 2023. Brighton’s technical director, David Weir, noted that the club had been eyeing Rutter for some time. Despite Leeds' efforts to retain him, Brighton activated his release clause to complete the transfer.
