Conditional protection in Excel allows you to control access to specific parts of your spreadsheet based on certain criteria. This can be particularly useful in collaborative environments where you need to protect sensitive data while still allowing users to interact with other parts of the worksheet.

1. Filters
Filters in Excel enable you to view only the data that meets certain criteria. While filters themselves don’t protect data, you can use conditional protection to ensure that certain filters cannot be changed or tampered with by unauthorized users.

Steps to Protect Filters:

Apply Filters: First, apply filters to your data range.
Protect the Worksheet:
Go to the Review tab and select Protect Sheet.
In the dialog box, ensure the Use AutoFilter option is checked. This allows users to use the filters but not change the filter criteria.
Set Password: Optionally, you can set a password to restrict changes to the protection settings.
