1 To the end, O Jeduthun, a song of David.
2 I said, I will keep my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I have made a guard before my lips, when the sinner rose up before me.
3 I became dumb and humbled, and kept silent from good things, and my sorrow was renewed.
4 My heart was warmed within me, and in my meditation a fire was kindled. I said with my tongue:
5 Tell me, O Lord, my end, and what is the number of my days? That I may understand that I am deprived.
6 Behold, You have made my days but spans, and my frame is as nothing before You. Yet every living man is vanity.
7 Therefore man walks in a manner, yet in vain he rages; he hoards, and I know not to whom he will store them.
8 And now who is my patience, but the Lord? And my frame is of Thee.
9 Deliver me from all my iniquities; Thou hast made me a reproach to the fool.
10 I was speechless, and opened not my mouth, as Thou hast done.
11 Remove Thy wounds from me: for by the strength of Thy hand I am consumed.
12 Thou hast chastened man with the rebukes of iniquity, and hast consumed his soul like a spider: yet is every man in vain.
13 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen to my supplication; do not silence my tears: for I am a sojourner with You and a pilgrim, like all my fathers.
14 Grant me rest, that I may rest, before I depart, and be no more.

3 I became speechless, humbled, silent, having lost my blessings, and again sorrow overcame me.
4 My heart burned within me, and a fire burned in my meditation. I said with my tongue:
5 Reveal to me, O Lord, the day of my end and the number of my days, whether it be many, that I may understand what remains to me.
6 You have measured my days as a span, and my nature is as nothing before You. Yet all is vanity, every living man!
7 Man walks like a ghost, but in vain does he fuss; he lays up treasures and does not know to whom they will go.
8 And now who is my hope? Is it not You, O Lord? And by You my nature was formed.
9 Deliver me from my iniquities! You have given me over to the reproach of the fool.
10 I became speechless and did not open my mouth, for You have willed it.
11 Remove Your blows from me, for by Your mighty hand I am weakened.
12 You have rebuked man by reproving his iniquities, but You have made his life as fragile as a spider's web. Yet is every man vanity.
13 Hear my prayer, O Lord, and attend to my supplication. Do not be silent when I see my tears, for I am a stranger and a pilgrim with You, like my fathers.
14 Have mercy on me, that I may taste rest before I die and am no more.
