Pirate FM broadcasting transmitter!
Some tests with my old pirate FM broadcasting transmitter. It's good to remember the old days of radio wave piracy... not anymore, I just use it for some mp3 playback on my home stereo equipment!
The FM exciter itself it's a complete Veronica 1 Watt PLL Kit, I have it enclosed on a self-made metal cabinet, inside there is also a pre-emphasis compressor-limiter circuit board from Broadcast Warehouse, and a Stereo Coder board from Veronica FM Kits for professional sound, this "son of a gun" is able to put out a loud and precise stereo sound broadcast, just like the big guns! Of course I've pumped the power up to 10 Watts using an external 10dB RF power amplifier No-Tune technology from Veronica FM Kits.
These exciter Kits are rated as professional level standards, it can modulate up to 76KHz base band signal with an almost flat audio response, it would also accommodate an RDS subcarrier if necessary, I've tested it in the past with a loaned RDS coder board!
Just excuse the crapy audio sound track from my cell phone, it doesn't play justice to the nice transmitted sound.
