Tourbillon Watch Movement Close-up
Close up of my tourbillon watch movement. A tourbillon is a mechanical marvel aimed at negating the effects of gravity when the timepiece is stuck in a certain position by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage.
The balance wheel/escapement assembly is rotated at a constant rate thus averaging out positional errors due to effects of gravity when the watch is stuck in different positions.
