Times of crisis always offer particularly fertile ground for conspiracy theories. It seems that an epidemic of conspiracy claims is once again sweeping across the country, fueled by political agitators, minor celebrities, and dubious experts.
What ideas converge in the current COVID conspiracy theories, how did they originate, and what are their historical roots? How much truth do they possess? Who are the key players, and what are their goals?
And finally – how can one deal with someone spreading such views?
Dr. Holm Hümmler studied physics, meteorology, and business administration and conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Munich, CERN in Geneva, and Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York.
