స్థలపురాణం పూర్వకాలం 13వ శతాబ్దంలో రాణి రుద్రమదేవి భర్త వీరభద్ర పశ్చిమగోదావరి జిల్లా నిడదవోలు కొంతభాగము పరిపాలించెను కోటి దీపాలు అనగా కోట సదా సదరు వీరభద్ర కాలంలో నిర్మించబడింది శ్రీ కోట సత్తెమ్మ ప్రఖ్యాతి పొందింది కాకతీయ పరిపాలన తర్వాత పరిపాలించిన రెడ్డిరాజుల పరిపాలనలో ఉండగా నిరవద్య పురం అంటే నేటి నిడదవోలు ప్రకృతి వైపరీత్యాల వలన కోట సత్తెమ్మ అమ్మవారి ఐక్యమైన అక్కిి వారు తిరిగి తిరిగి 1936 వ సంవత్సరంలో తిమ్మరాజుపాలెం శ్రీ దేవులపల్లి రామ్మూర్తి శాస్త్రిగారు పొలం దున్నుతుండగా అమ్మవారు వారి నాగలికి తగిలి బయటపడింది శ్రీ అమ్మవారు పది అడుగుల ఎత్తులో సకల భూషణ అలంకారం అంటే అభయహస్తం మరియు యజ్ఞోపవితం తో కలిగి ఉన్నారు అంటే శక్తిపీఠం విగ్రహం కింద లెక్క ఇచ్చట విశేషం ఏమిటంటే ముస్లిములు కూడా అమ్మవారిన కోిలుస్తున్నారు సంతానం లేని వారికి సంతానం వివాహం కాని వారికి వివాహం కలిగి చూస్తున్నారు ముఖ్యంగా ఆదివారం మంగళవారాల్లో విశేష పూజలు ఉంటాయి--------
