Episode 2: Cathect
Invest - “Invest” in yourself, in your environment, your time
Cathect: to invest with mental or emotional energy
If it’s not going to bring wealth to you, then it’s not an investment.
“Invest” in yourself.
It’s the kind of investment that no one can take away from you.
Does that sound selfish? But the only person you can and should control is yourself. And if you can’t invest in yourself, how would you expect others to invest in you?
Read books, ebooks or listen to audiobooks if you want to multitask.
Take yourself a step closer to your dreams by making the effort to learn.
Brush up on your skills or learn something new.
Some of you might think, “but I don’t have any talents”.
Let me give some examples: Drawing and painting are skills which means they can be learned.
“Less is more”. Less stuff, more room.
If it doesn’t line up with your real passion, chances are you don’t need it.
When we moved into this new minimalist style house 3 months ago, I had to give up tons of things I wasn’t using (or forgot I even had). Imagine all the garage sales and the hassle of having to arrange different transportation bookings just to downsize.
Do not try to numb yourself with things that would put your health at risk.
Buying essential groceries online may be a good thing but take time to think about what you absolutely need.
Don’t waste your time and energy on things or people that kill your vibe.
Focus on what you can control.
But check if you have the right positive vibe as default. Otherwise, energetic and positive people will kill your vibe. Or worse, you will suck their energy until they, too, would feel down.
Clean your house, your backyard, your bedroom. Try redecorating, #homeimprovementchallenge.
We can’t control the pandemic. We can only contribute by doing our duties as part of the society.
