In this comparision we will check how both Renderers, Corona and V-Ray, tackle a very simple and standard task that artists run into on a daily basis and see which renderer beats the other one in terms of usability, render quality and setup time.
I am a long term V-Ray user and recently started to check out Corona and was impressed on how Corona manages to simplify the whole process of setting up a nice HDRI environment to preview your models. Coming from V-Ray this always was quite a painful process for me and I really hope V-Ray can implement similar features that keep a typical artist's workflow in mind and simplify or streamline certain processes. The whole video is not meant as a diss against V-Ray but more as a constructive attempt to demonstrate why certain processes in Corona are just a lot easier from an artist's perspective.
I am using 3ds Max and V-Ray 5 as well as Corona 6. The techniques and workarounds shown for V-Ray work also for older V-Ray versions and in fact they actually work better there.
