Macro Setup for Recording Bubbles Freeze
Freezing bubbles is a fun activity and with a macro setup you can record and watch the beautiful crystals as they form.
Bubble Mix:
Dissolve 2 tbsp sugar in 4 oz of water
Mix 2 tbsp corn syrup into the sugar water
Lightly stir 2 tbsp dish soap into mix
Camera Gear Used:
Canon EOS R with RF-35MM macro lens
160 Led ring light with some plastic taped on it for lighting; you can use anything; sunlight works and even a flashlight will work.
Focus peaking is a nice feature to have on a mirrorless camera.
Manually focusing the front of the bubble with an f stop around 9-11 will give nice and crisp details
