The most accessible way to lose limbs is to have them chopped off in combat, specifically by high cut damage weapons wielded by adept users. This of course lacks precision and is time-consuming and luck-dependent when done in the wild.
Prisoner Poles are capturing devices used by Cannibals, Fogmen and Gurglers. When a recruit/NPC is captured nearby a prisoner pole they are locked in and eaten alive by the nearest enemies. This process can take anywhere from a few seconds to minutes, allowing for escape. They work a lot like Prisoner Cages but with separate animations. They are also used by the Southern Hive.
