Context:
Owen was a wither hybrid with no magic. He looked the parts and had certain traits but he wasn’t much of a wither. Which was unfortunate considering he was next in line for the throne with no other options.
One day, while he was taking a walk, Owen met another wither. A powerful one at that. The wither struck a deal, offering Owen his magic on the condition that he would have free access to Owen’s mind, being able to possess him at will. Owen accepted.
No one knows about this deal, and they likely never will (unless anyone wants to make lore with that then ask about it first). When Owen’s wings are visible (which is like 90% if the time) he isn’t himself, he is the wither in his mind.
